Hello! I’m Aaren, the creator/owner/operator of Bolted Lightning- an ongoing stream of hand made goods. Bolted Lightning is about taking the beautifully infinite and abstract energy that is our internal thoughts/feelings/reactions to reality and bolting it down into tangible creations. It’s about using our senses to translate the internal to the external, keeping the flow going, not allowing stagnant energy to build up and condense into negative and restricting thought, but instead letting it keep moving and changing forms through different mediums. I am currently working towards a Visual Arts teaching certificate and in the mean time teach workshops around the Hudson Valley. My ultimate goal with Bolted Lightning is to create a space for humans to be humans, to simply, make. I believe that the act of physically interacting with materials is of utmost therapeutic importance, and in a time filled with touching screens, something that needs to be revived and nurtured to remind us of our human nature. I am always open for custom commissions and hope to meet you at a market or workshop sometime!
